Política Exterior
Mission and objectives
Política Exterior is Spain’s leading international affairs magazine, founded in 1987 by Darío Valcárcel with the support of Guillermo Luca de Tena and Rafael Atienza. Its mission has always been to provide a long-term, rigorous space for reflection on Spain’s role in the world. Over nearly four decades, Política Exterior has become a benchmark for international analysis in Spanish, read by policymakers, diplomats, academics, journalists, and business leaders across Europe and Latin America.
The project expanded with several publications:
- Informe Semanal de Política Exterior (1995): a weekly bulletin offering concise analysis of global current affairs.
- Economía Exterior (1997): focused on Spain’s business internationalization.
- Afkar/Ideas (2003): a quarterly bilingual (Spanish-French) magazine co-edited with the IEMed, fostering dialogue between Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East.
