Mission and objectives

Corvinus University of Budapest is a prestigious institute of higher education in the fields of economic sciences, business administration and social sciences. The Institute for International Studies at the Faculty of Social Sciences and International Relations was established in 1963 and since then is the leading Institute in Hungary providing education in the field of IR.

One of the strengths of the Institute is Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies. The Institute organizes annual conferences in the field of Middle Eastern Studies, publishes regularly edited books and its researchers frequently comment contemporary issues in the media. The Institute also has a strategic partnership with the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Affairs. 

The aim of the Institute is to enlarge its existing network in the fields of Middle Eastern Studies and European politics, through new joint researches as well as joint seminars or student and professor exchange among others.
