This paper by Fouad M. Ammor analyses the geopolitical transformations in the MENA region through a multidimensional approach. The author goes beyond the day-to-day analysis of the regional events while he tries to understand the structural dynamics and their underlining causes. The paper is divided into four parts on the following issues: oil wealth in the MENA region, the role of Israel in the Euro-Mediterranean area, modernisation crisis and human security in the light of the Arab present.
