On 30 April, the annual spring meeting of the International Donor Group for Palestine in support of the Palestinian economy, the Ad Hoc Liaison Committee took place in Brussels. The meeting, chaired by Norwegian FM Marie Eriksen Søreide and co-chaired by HR/VP Mogherini, was preceded by a joint press point where the latter announced over €22 million of additional humanitarian assistance in support of the most vulnerable people in Gaza and in the West Bank. The economic assistance, stressed Mogherini, was meant to support the two-state solution and preserve the Oslo framework. European Union assistance to Palestinians has been more than €300 million every year for the last 15 years. The EU has also contributed €153 million to UNRWA (UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East) and several Member States also increased their assistance significantly, read the EEAS statement.
