Mission and objectives

MedMA advances evidence-based migration and asylum governance across the Mediterranean by connecting research, policy, and practice. Through authoritative analysis, accessible data, and inclusive policy dialogue, we support decision-makers in developing effective, rights-based, and implementation-oriented responses to human mobility. By bringing together governments, international organizations, academia, and civil society, we foster regional cooperation and promote migration as a driver of social cohesion, economic development, and Mediterranean integration.

MedMA envisions a Mediterranean where migration is governed through cooperation, evidence, and shared responsibility. We aspire to be the region’s leading platform for knowledge, policy innovation, and dialogue, helping shape migration and asylum systems that are effective, resilient, and respectful of human rights. By strengthening collaboration across the Mediterranean and its wider neighbourhood, we seek to contribute to a more stable, inclusive, and integrated region where human mobility is recognized as an opportunity for sustainable development and regional partnership.
