Call for Participants for I EuroMeSCo Youth Forum 31 May Barcelona

The EuroMeSCo Youth Forum "Youth to Youth: How to tackle radicalization of young people?", organised in the framework of the Annual Conference, aspires to build and empower a community of young researchers in Euro-Mediterranean affairs. Its aim is to involve young researchers in debates on political and social developments in the Euro-Mediterranean area and to foster exchanges with policy and decision makers.

Selected researchers from the EuroMeSCo network will be invited to:

  • Participate and intervene actively in the I EuroMeSCo Youth Forum to be held on 31 May in the morning
  • Take part in the EuroMeSCo Annual Conference “Confronting Violent Extremism in the Euro-Mediterranean”, to be held on 1-2 June, gathering over 120 stakeholders, including researchers, academics, national and regional policy makers

EuroMeSCo General Assembly and Annual Conference 2017

The next EuroMeSCo General Assembly and Annual Conference will take place on 31 May and 1-2 June in Barcelona. The Annual Conference “Confronting Violent Extremism in the Euro-Mediterranean” will gather senior policymakers and researchers to discuss violent extremism in the Euro-Mediterranean, its manifestations, drivers, impact and how it can be curbed.

Support for mobility among researchers of EuroMeSCo members

In January 2017 the IEMed and EuroMeSCo have launched a new program "Support for mobility among researchers of EuroMeSCo members" whose objective is to promote the mobility of researchers affiliated to the member institutes of the network. The program is funded from IEMed´s proper funds. Following the first call for proposals submitted under this programme, it was decided that IEMed and EuroMeSCo would support the organization of the following workshops:


  • Security Sector Reform in the Southern Neighborhood, to be held in Brussels on 19 May, organized by European Union Institute for Security Studies
  • La Méditerranée face à la raréfaction des ressources en eau, to be held on 23-25 May in Tunis, organized by Centre d´études méditerranéennes et internationales
  • The Trump Administration and the Mediterranean: What to Expect, What to Advise, to be held in Genoa on 5-7 June, organised by German Marshall Fund
  • From Democratic Transition to Democracy Learning: towards a paradigmatic turn in Democratization Studies, to be held in Rabat on 28-30 September, organized by Centre for Studies and Research in Social Sciences


EuroMeSCo reaffirms its position among 10 best think tank networks in the world

EuroMeSCo has been ranked number 9 best think tank network in the world, according to the University of Pennsylvania Global Go To Think Tank Index Report for 2016.
