This workshop gathering officials from the Secretariat of the Union for the Mediterranean and Euro-Mediterranean think tanks will discuss the prospects for the multilateral framework of Euro-Mediterranean relations as a consequence of the political transformations in the region.

It will also analyse the role of the Union for the Mediterranean and its Secretariat and their contribution in the new political context in the Southern shore and the economic crisis in the north. In addition, it will provide the state of play of UfM-led projects in order to identify the most promising areas of sectorial cooperation and ways to uphold democratic reform through specific projects.

This workshop is being organised by the Secretariat of the Union for the Mediterranean, IEMed and EuroMeSCo and will be held in Barcelona, on the 3rd October 2012. Please note that attendance to this event is by invitation only.
