|CERAM - Centre de recherche sur l´Afrique et la Méditerranée|
Deputy Director: Mohamed Tozy
EuroMeSCo "liason officer": Munia Benbrahim
Founded in October 2010 within the Ecole de Gouvernance et d’Economie de Rabat (EGE), the Centre for Research on Africa and the Mediterranean (CERAM) brings together a team of researchers with a social science background –in particular political and economic sciences- who share a pluridisciplinary approach. The research conducted at the CERAM geographically covers an area that extends from the Maghreb to sub-Saharan Africa and from the Machreq to the Sahel.
Drawing upon the cross continental position of the Moroccan capital, CERAM aims at bringing a contribution to the production of regional knowledge and seeks to actively foster ties between national as well as international researchers dealing with the aforementioned regions. The CERAM also serves as a facilitator for research, especially among PhD candidates.
Finally, reaching out to local actors, CERAM aspires to encourage exchange among the administrative, diplomatic and economic communities in order to contribute to the critical thinking about issues of governance. Therefore, CERAM adopts the same working languages as those of EGE, i.e. French, English and Arabic.
Political Economy; Political Sociology; Natural Resources; Regional Integration; Security Studies and Risk Management; Media & communications; Political professionals; Governance.
CERAM’s institutional relationship with EGE’s wide-ranging network among leading universities allows it to exchange permanently with scholars in Africa, Europe and the Americas.
