Chief Executive: Fabian Zuleeg

General Statement
The European Policy Centre (EPC) is a well established independent, not-for-profit think tank, committed to making European integration work. The EPC works at the ‘cutting edge’ of European and global policy-making providing its members and the wider public with rapid, high-quality information and analysis on the EU and global policy agenda. It aims to promote a balanced dialogue between the different constituencies of its membership, spanning all aspects of economic and social life. In line with its multi-constituency approach, members of the EPC comprise companies, professional and business federations, trade unions, diplomatic missions, regional and local bodies, as well as NGOs representing a broad range of civil society interests, foundations, international and religious organisations. EPC believes in full transparency in relation to its activities. EPC is established as an international not-for-profit organisation (association international sans but lucratif - AISBL). Its governance is detailed on its website, comprising of a Governing Board and a General Assembly. Further detail is available at www.epc.eu

Areas of work
The EPC works on the basis of a three-year strategic programme, which is decided in the Governing Board, following a strategic review. Presently, four main areas have been identified for long-term analysis:
• European Politics and Institutions,
• European Migration and Diversity,
• Europe’s Political Economy and Europe in the World.

Objective of the Euromed / Middle East programme
The EPC’s core focus is on Euro-Mediterranean relations, with a particular angle on EU foreign policies and initiatives, such as the European Neighbourhood Policy and the Union for the Mediterranean, also in the context of the creation of the European External Action Service. Within this framework some key areas are addressed: political relations, human rights and democracy, foreign policies of the member states, the external dimension of the EU’s migration policies, migration patterns and some select economic and demographic issues.
