Objectives of the Euromed/Middle East programme(s)

Our Southern neighborhood programme has three goals:

1) To provide analysis of developments in the Southern Mediterranean,

2) To share experience from Czech and Central European democratic transition with reformers in the Southern Mediterranean,

3) To provide advocacy and advice for more efficient Czech and EU policies in the Southern Mediterranean.

EUROPEUM’s main added value and contribution to Euromesco is threefold: 1) the experience with post-authoritarian transition processes in Central and Eastern Europe; 2) access to Czech and EU policy-makers; 3) long track-record of policy analysis and international cooperation.

Publications and activities

Recent FIIA publications on the Euromed/Middle East have included a report on the “EU’s Options in a Changing Middle East”, as well as several commentaries and analysis papers on the Arab Uprisings and the future of Euromed policies, as well as a series of expert seminars on the domestic situation in different Arab countries.
