ELIAMEP is an independent, non-profit making public benefit foundation from Greece, dedicated to the study of European and foreign policy issues. It aims at exploiting the results of scientific research for developing realistic, well-documented policy recommendations to respond to some of the biggest challenges faced by the global community today. To this end, it conducts specific targeted research projects, organizes training and awareness-raising events, produces various types of publications, briefs interested groups of professionals, such as policy-makers and journalists, on issues that fall within its scope, etc.
Areas of work
European political and financial integration; migration; security; democracy and civic participation; developments in specific regions, such as the Middle East and the Mediterranean, the Balkans, the Black Sea and the Caucasus.
Objectives of the Euromed/Middle East programme(s)
In 2010 ELIAMEP launched a new Programme on Middle Eastern Studies. The Programme will aim to offer insight and knowledge about developments in the broader Middle East to the Greek foreign policy community and public opinion. Emphasis will also be given to the strengthening of existing relationships and the exploration of opportunities for cooperation with networks and selected institutes in the Middle East and the EU with similar research interests.
